2026: the screen in the film is no longer only a form. It shows the place where the program's metaphors circulate: machine, information, genome, brain, network. From our screens, feeds, maps, assistants and databases, this language has become an ordinary way of inhabiting the world.
The booklet explains that The Silence Of The BANGs is not a film about the nanoworld, invisible and difficult to represent, but a film made from the discourses it produces. Nanos become a signal: industrial promises, scientific myths, transhumanist fantasies, political anxieties, issues of control. The film explores the "nanocosm" of those who speak about nanos: researchers, engineers, industrialists, activists, philosophers. It questions converging technologies, automation, democracy and the human condition. Its cyberdocumentary device uses informational machines in order to divert them, expose their sources, and collectively reopen the question of the technical, political and anthropological ends of our common present.
